A Library Eruption

The concrete tube in the courtyard of Sawyer Library never did anything of note, until last week, when it erupted in clouds of steam. I caught it on video, then added a soundtrack by The Waikikis, a Belgian studio band that did Hawaiian covers of Beatles tunes.As Christine pointed out to me, this movie will be more interesting once Sawyer is demolished, or if you know that it's coming. The construction equipment in the background and the facade of Stetson Hall, which will front the new library, only heighten the sense of wistfulness.
