G-Hog In Da House!

August 6, 2004 @ 9:31 pm

Guess who's back, back again? G-Hog's back, tell a friend!

groundhog at my window

He came right up to my bedroom window by way of my neighbor's fire escape, and didn't run away when I opened the blind to snap this picture. He probably couldn't see me. Now that I think of it, a squirrel was clawing at my screen yesterday morning. Maybe I smell like critter candy. More pics on the comments page.

Looking at me, trying to decide which way to run.

Stupidly running back up the stairs.

His sibling was out in the neighbor's yard, but still visible from my porch. You can't hide from the G-Hog Paparazzi.

Oh, that's so cute! In the first picture it looks sort of like a wombat, but not very timid. I've never seen a ground hog. have you given it a name? (even if it is supposed to be wild?)

I call the groundhog babies Larry, Moe and Curly, but I can't tell them apart. The momma groundhog doesn't have a name. I don't think this one could see me through the screen, because usually as soon as I appear they go scampering off to their burrow.

Excellent, where do I sign up? It has a nicer ring to it (and is less objectifying) than Diesel-Weasel anyway.
