Mac Ads

Mac and PC are both White GuysNow here's an interesting ad campaign. Mac is trying to look all indie and hipster compared to the stuffy old PC, but at the end of the day they're both white males and honestly they both look pretty dorky. Long live the patriarchy!

I wonder which computer is right for a dorky white guy like myself. Of course, it would be cool if I could speak Japanese like the Mac guy, but I do so enjoy using the Calculator on my PC. Hmm, this ad campaign didn't help me at all.

Actually, I defected from the Mac after 8 years of loyalty. Want to go crazy? Try staring at that damn spinning mint on a Mac for MINUTES while it thinks about nothing at all. This guy's got a funny take on it:

i was trying to decide where a photo of little ol' me would fit with these two guys. i don't actually own a computer. my tv lives in the closet. my 'stereo' is pitiful. after some deliberation, i decided my tag line would be: "I'm a luddite" perhaps illustrated by this photo of me outside a rural public library. yeah.

Nice! I understand your luddite streak. For all my close association with computers (and I'd be unemployed without their help) I trust them about as far as I can throw them. Which is farther and farther as time goes on. I really trust the iPod nano a lot.
