Ornery Pole Cat

I saw a creature run into the road as I was finishing up a bike ride the other week. It saw me, turned, and ran back into the bushes. It looked so strange that I went home and drew a picture. I didn't catch the silkiness of it's fur:

It looked like a cross between a ferret and a soft black cat, and looking at pictures of mink online convinced me that's what I saw. A mink in Williamstown, who would have guessed?
Next time I'll take my camera with me.

I always thought a polecat was a skunk. Those minks are very cute. I would like to pet them, but I think they'd bite me. That's probably why people make them into coats.
