Palm Oil and Toasters

I was reading an article on the shortage of palm oil in the Times today, and how some families in the slums of the third world can't afford 41 cents of oil to cook their dinner, when I noticed the ad to the right of the text:
That's right, the Times "T" Toaster can be yours for just $85! What makes this so much better than your average toaster? Well, it will stamp the Times "T" on your toast! Could these two worlds be farther apart? As environmental degradation and population pressures increase, these are the people who will do the dying.
