Atrophied Gastropod

Twinkie the KidI was doing some research on Twinkies and discovered that in 1970, the Department of Agriculture redefined "breakfast" so that schools could replace juice and cereal with a nutritionally equivalent "Fortified Baked Product with Cream Filling."

Hostess answered the call with a super Twinkie, called Astrofood. It boasted nutrition comparable to a breakfast of 4 ounces of orange juice, 2 slices of bacon, one egg, one pat of butter, and one slice of bread.

To top it all off, when you put Astrofood into Microsoft Word's spellchecker, it will suggest Atrophied and Gastropod.

Hey, it was the early 70s. They thought Twinkies were good for breakfast. Which by the way is what I just had for breakfast. And it was good.
