New High Mark

For those who haven't heard yet, I set myself the goal of riding up Mt. Greylock on my bike. I'm starting from my house at 642 feet above sea level and hoping to make it to the top of Mt. Greylock at around 3500 feet.

I just made it to 1740 feet on my ride up Mt. Greylock this evening, a new record for me! It's only a third of the elevation change, but over half way as the crow flies. For the first time today, I began to think that I could really make it to the summit this season. And, for the first time I turned around, not because I was exhausted, but because it was getting dark.
