I Can't Move

Attempt number six on the summit brought me just past the 3/4 mark and exhaustion. Only 3 miles and 700 feet to go! I think I'll go the same distance on Wednesday or Thursday and attempt the summit this weekend.I finally got my first view of the summit and the valley below from my stopping point, and it was spectacular. The sun was setting just as I got there, so I got to watch it drop below the mountains in the distance before I headed down in the gathering dusk.

Totally! That's what makes it all worth it really. It took me almost half an hour to ride down on Saturday. The road is in sorry condition with lots of bumps so I can't go too fast, but there are some sections where I really fly. It's weird to think you hear a car behind you, and then realize that's the sound of your own tires on the road.
