I Spoke Too Soon

Dead Hard DriveIt looks like my hard drive has finally bitten the dust. After I reinstalled the OS everything worked fine for a day or so, then I started getting errors with messages like "Your hard drive is operating outside of normal parameters" and now it won't even boot up in safe mode.

On the plus side, I now have an excuse to buy a bigger hard drive. It was getting a little cramped with only 40 gigs. But, as Bill Gates supposedly said, "640K ought to be enough for anybody."

I bought a new laptop for memory, upgraded from 40 GB to 80 GB. I am loving it!!!

Was the hole in the motherboard drilled before or after these error messages?

I think that's the exit point of a bullet hole, and I didn't have the satisfaction of doing that to my computer, but found it on the internet. I installed the new hard drive but it's still acting a bit squirrelly, so it may be a bigger problem than I thought. Ugh, the saga continues...
