I'm going to wipe my computer tomorrow - full rebuild from the operating system up, oh boy! It's been running slower and slower and now it crashes all the time. I think I caught something nasty because the processor is maxed out all the time on weird processe. As I write this post I'm having second thoughts. I'm double backed up and all, but it will still be a major pain in the ass. Maybe I'll wait and see if it crashes again. But one more blue screen of death and I've had it!
Oh yeah, I should mention that I have a PC. I defected from the Mac side after 8 years and overall have been very happy with the results. But not this week.

On an unrelated note, I went to W-town yesterday. Nice mountains! Too much snow... And the main street is only a block!!

good luck on the reinstall . . . it is a pain. Why did you defect from Macs? I'm actually thinking of a getting a Powerbook next year so I'm curious about your experiences.

You know it's your Apple sitting in storage going, "Niiiick.... you wan't to ride the Tiger."

You were in Williamstown, O? I knew you were coming to Boston but not this end of the state. Too bad I was in Missoula! Oh yeah, I'm back online. Right now my computer is downloading a jillion security updates from Microsoft but things are running SOOOO smoothly, I should have done this a long time ago. The reasons I defected from Apple are long and twisted, but mainly it was price. Of course that's coming closer to parity, so maybe I'll switch back someday.

You were in Missoula? How come?

Just visiting my extended family for turkey day. You weren't in town, were you? On the way in Missoula was completely fogged in so they flew us to Bozeman and bussed us the last 200 miles. It pretty much sucked. But I got to spend a few hours in Minneapolis between flights with my sister, so it wasn't a total wash.

My mac has been giving me trouble. First I needed a new hard drive, now I need a new logic board. The video card works about 80% of the time and the logic board costs over $600, so I'll be using the computer just for mst3k episodes. I have the emulator PC that Will made me, but its so clunky and I miss Tiger :[

On some weird twisted note: I have a Commodor 64 in my basement.
