Nuclear Bombs in Ann Arbor

June 7, 2004 @ 11:15 am

I had a dream about nuclear war last night. The government had decided to install an a-bomb above my street, hanging from a wire. It was made of glass with a yellow-metallic color. They were covering it with black stealth panels so that it would be hard to find, even though it was hanging in plain sight. An interviewer from NPR came to my apartment to ask me what I thought of it, and he brought the bomb with him. I told him that it seemed stupid to keep an a-bomb in our own city where it would be more likely to destroy us than our enemies. Then the interviewer started showing me the components of the bomb. While he was showing how it was made of six nodes, he dropped it and broke one of the nodes, spreading broken glass and radiation in my apartment. The last thing I remember was trying to vacuum up all of the glass, which was getting stuck in the carpet. The interviewer was no help at all.

Did you vacuum it up with your lawn mower vacuum?

Ha! In my dream, my apartment was the size of a Myers single, so there wouldn't be room to turn around.
